About Dental Implants

What are Dental Implants?
Dental implants are made from the metal Titanium and are inserted into the bone of the jaw. They are shaped like screws and act as small anchors for the placement of artificial teeth. Dental implants are permanent and unlike dentures are not removed.

The advantage of dental implants.
Implants can be used for a number of different situations and needs, from the loss of one tooth or several teeth, to problems with loose full dentures. The implants are supported in the bone of the jaw in much the same way as the natural tooth roots; therefore you can chew, smile and speak as if they were your own teeth.

The costs of implants
Implants require a greater initial financial investment in comparison to dentures or bridges. However implants are known to last well over 20years and possibly a lifetime, dentures and bridges need to be replaced.

Because implants fit into your mouth and are secure, most patients would agree they are worth the cost. It is not possible to provide accurate costs for your particular needs, however a initial consultation can be arranged and an estimate provided for you.
